Laboratory Technician
The Science Team at Pride Health is currently supporting a client in the food industry that is looking to hire a Laboratory Technician in Iowa Falls, IA. The Laboratory Technician performs routine analytical and laboratory testing to support food safety, quality, and operational teams. This role is responsible for conducting product testing, monitoring laboratory instrumentation, documenting results, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Pay range: $14 - $15/hour on W2 as per your experience Contract Length: 12 Months with the possibility of extension
Shifts:
8–10 hours per day, 4–5 days per week (some weekends) - Start time 7:00 or 8:00 AM.
- Perform routine laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative inspections and analyses independently.
- Monitor laboratory instrumentation performance and verify testing accuracy.
- Perform calibration checks, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on laboratory equipment.
- Accurately document and communicate test results in laboratory databases and reporting systems.
- Maintain customer specifications, testing records, and laboratory documentation.
- Support food safety, quality, and regulatory programs by ensuring adherence to established procedures and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote and strengthen food safety, quality, and regulatory culture.
- Assist with more complex laboratory trials, studies, and experiments under supervision.
- Handle routine clerical, administrative, technical, and customer support tasks.
- Escalate non-routine issues, deviations, or equipment concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Follow all laboratory safety procedures, quality standards, and operating guidelines.
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Basic report writing and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently with general supervision.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with data entry and computer-based laboratory systems.
- Previous laboratory, quality assurance, food manufacturing, microbiology, chemistry, or related experience.
- Experience with laboratory instrumentation, calibration, and maintenance activities.
- Familiarity with food safety, quality systems, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Laboratory and manufacturing environment.
- May require standing for extended periods.
- May involve handling laboratory samples, chemicals, and testing equipment.
- Must follow all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
