the Job
The Quality Systems Manager is responsible for leading, maintaining and continuously improving the Hose & Valve Quality Management System while ensuring products, processes, and documentation meet internal, customer and ISO 9001 requirements. This position serves as a key resource for quality assurance, corrective actions, product quality, customer requirements, supplier quality, engineering documentation, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Quality Management System
- Maintain and continuously improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS)
- Lead and coordinate internal and external ISO audits
- Maintain quality procedures, policies, work instructions, and supporting documentation
- Manage the document control process and ensure documentation remains current and accurate
- Ensure compliance with applicable customer-specific quality requirements
- Identify opportunities to strengthen quality processes and overall QMS effectiveness
- Non-conformance and Corrective Action Management
- Monitor incoming, in-process, and finished product quality
- Investigate product defects and nonconforming materials
- Partner with purchasing and suppliers to resolve supplier-related quality issues
- Develop and maintain inspection procedures and quality criteria
- Maintain accurate quality and inspection records
- Identify recurring product or supplier quality issues and recommend appropriate improvements
- Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing and assembly processes
- Analyze quality trends and key performance indicators to identify areas of improvement
- Lead and support initiatives focused on reducing defects, rework, and waste
- Develop and standardize quality "best practices" across the division
- Support and develop other continuous improvement initiatives
- Customer Quality
- Serve as a primary contact for OEM customers regarding quality requirements, concerns, and specifications
- Develop an support the execution of Production Part Approval Processes (PPAPs) for customers
- Manage contamination testing programs and associated documentation
- Prepare customer quality reports and supported documentation
- Ensure products and processes comply with applicable customer specifications
- Support and coordinate customer quality audits
