Research Scientist

Inovarion is a Research and Innovation centre founded in 2013. Bridging fundamental research and industrial development, Inovarion brings its expertise to leading public and private players in biomedical research. Over the past 13 years, Inovarion has become a key actor of R&D in France, with the core mission of contributing to scientific progress in the Life Sciences.

You will join one of our research projects hosted by a leading partner laboratory in Cologne, Germany. Your main mission will be to efficiently manage the project entrusted to you, taking an active part in its design, execution and delivery. You will be in charge of implementing all the experimental techniques required, processing and analysing the resulting data, and contributing to the dissemination and valorisation of the outcomes of Inovarion's research programmes.

We are looking for a Research Scientist (m/w/d) holding a PhD (Dr. rer. nat. or equivalent) in cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry or a closely related discipline. A first postdoctoral experience and a track record of peer-reviewed publications are considered strong assets. You should master a broad set of the following techniques:

• Culture and expansion of primary cells and cell lines, standardisation of protocols
• Development and optimisation of gene modulation protocols (shRNA, sgRNA design and cloning for CRISPR/Cas9), transfection, lentivirus production and transduction
• qRT-PCR, primer design, Western blot, advanced normalisation methods and quantification
• Design and execution of cell-based assays (viability, real-time proliferation, migration), flow cytometry
• Proactivity in troubleshooting technical issues, critical analysis of results, and strong presentation and synthesis skills. A good command of English (spoken and written) is required.
