We have a vacancy for an exceptionally organised and highly motivated individual with a background in epidemiology, statistics, data science, health geography, spatial epidemiology or a related quantitative discipline to work on the Healthy Urban Places programme within Born in Bradford.

Healthy Urban Places is a major UKRI-funded transdisciplinary research programme focused on understanding how local urban environments can be harnessed to improve population health and reduce inequalities. The successful candidate will contribute to research using cohort studies, linked routine data, spatial data and environmental data, with a particular focus on spatial and health inequalities.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will lead or contribute to analyses across three broad topic areas: housing, healthy environments, and urban heat islands. They will be responsible for preparing and analysing complex linked datasets, applying appropriate quantitative, spatial and/or quasi-experimental methods, and working with academic, NHS, local authority and community partners to ensure that findings inform policy and practice.

This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of the Born in Bradford Epistats team on a high-profile, applied population health research programme with the potential to generate evidence that directly informs place-based interventions and reduces health inequalities.
