Job DescriptionJob Title: Food Service Worker
Reports To: Building Principal
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary arts certification preferred.
- Proven experience as a cook or chef, preferably in an institutional or school setting.
- Supervisory or leadership experience in a kitchen environment.
Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, and menu planning.
- Familiarity with dietary requirements and allergen management.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and maintaining safety standards.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (e.g., food supplies, equipment).
- Capability to work in a hot, humid kitchen environment.
- School kitchens and cafeteria settings.
- Collaborative work with administrative staff, students, and kitchen team members.
