Part Time Sales floor Associate
Ace Hardware in Dyersville is looking for a part time salesfloor associate! The ideal candidate can work afternoon and evening closing shifts until 7pm and is available to work weekends. Flexible schedule and fun place to work! Competitive pay! Great for retirees or as a second job. We require applicants to be a minimum of 18 years of age to operate equipment.
You may be filling shelves, running the cash register, building a grill, doing carryouts, mixing paint or cutting keys, and always helping our customers. Experience with a forklift or selling appliances is a plus!!!

The ACE Hardware Sales Associate is responsible for processing and stocking of product, building and filling displays, receiving cash from customers or Associates in payment for goods or services in a quick and friendly manner while providing genuine customer care.
Essential duties and responsibilities include driving store sales by ensuring that all customers are acknowledged, customer projects needs are met, and concerns are resolved quickly; processing and stocking deliveries and back stock; building and filling displays; performing product scanning and processing of customer's orders in an accurate, efficient, and prompt manner; ensuring proper handling of all forms of tender and coupons;
processing and is accountable for other services handled at the register; answering incoming phone calls using proper phone etiquette; performing fixed activities as assigned; assisting with store maintenance and cleaning; following all store and department policies and procedures; and other duties may be assigned.
Key attributes include being friendly, having excellent people skills, good organizational skills, and a quick reaction/response time.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Some hardware knowledge is required. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Present information and respond to questions from customers or associates.
Basic math concepts (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication) are required.
This position has no required certifications, licenses, or registrations.
Recommended equipment includes slip resistant shoes with closed toe and heel, safety cutter, knives, apron, uniform per store policy.
Physical demands include standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, reaching with hands and arms, communicating with associates and customers, lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, sitting, overhead lifting, crawling, smelling, lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds, close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust focus, ability to distinguish colors.
Work environment includes occasionally outside weather conditions, work in high places, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, moderate noise level in most areas, high in areas with lumber processing equipment.
Pay range depends on industry experience.
