All positions except those listed above or designated by the District Store Director or Store Manager.
- Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all interactions.
- Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner in all areas of the store.
- Assist customers by escorting them to desired products, securing out‑of‑reach items, loading/unloading heavy items, and noting customer suggestions or requests.
- Answer the telephone promptly, providing friendly and helpful service to callers.
- Perform key‑holder duties including opening and closing responsibilities.
- Assign employees to specific duties, follow up to ensure timely completion, and train them in department procedures and job duties.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of employees in all areas of the store (in the manager’s absence) or perform necessary work at all job levels.
- Assist customers with their orders at the self‑checkout lanes.
- Process refunds for customers and department‑approved refunds.
- Monitor self‑checkout registers and the service counter.
- Unload truck, stock, replenish, and face all product throughout the store, fulfilling to‑do lists from store leadership.
- Label all product containers in the backroom and storage areas with receipt dates.
- Operate a cash register to complete customer transactions accurately and promptly, including occasional bagging.
- Redeem promotional coupons, food stamps, WIC checks, issues rain checks, receives cash and checks, and complete credit‑card charge transactions.
- Sell and redeem lottery tickets and process rental transactions for Rug Doctors.
- Ensure proper customer service throughout the store and address specific customer issues.
- Train and enforce safety procedures to provide a safe and healthy work environment for employees and customers, filing customer accident forms and first report of injury forms as required.
- Ensure compliance of employees with established policy, law, security, sales, and record‑keeping procedures and practices.
- Determine location of ad and promotional displays and ensure product quality and quantity meet customer and store demands and profitability targets.
- Maintain strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
- Stay current with market trends, competition, new products, equipment, and merchandising techniques.
- Provide continuous education for existing store employees regarding new and updated company and store policies, procedures, and job duties.
- Perform other job‑related duties, assist in other areas of the store, and work on special projects as needed.
- Ability to solve practical problems involving variables with limited standardization.
- Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Ability to guide people, give basic direction, follow technical manuals, and maintain increased contact with people.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Two years or more of similar or related work experience preferred.
Physical Requirements- Physically perform medium work: exert up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
- View requirements: visual acuity from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
- Perform activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
Exposed to dust, noise, temperature extremes, equipment movement hazards, electrical shock, and chemicals and solvents. Fast‑paced environment.
