Store Counter Sales

Overview

Tama, IA, USA — Full time position. We are looking for a NAPA Counter Sales Associate, the face of the retail store who helps customers with all automotive parts needs. A background in automotive parts is preferred; enthusiasm to learn more about automotive products is welcome.

• Provide auto parts answers and solutions for retail and wholesale customers in person at the counter or over the phone
• Use parts knowledge to assist other NAPA team members in answering customer questions
• Deliver outstanding customer care and positive interactions with store visitors
• Contribute to a fast-paced, customer-focused store environment
• Welcome customers into the store and engage to provide a positive consumer experience
• Utilize technology (computer, cash register, telephone, and paper catalog system)

• Valid driver s license
• Experience in a parts store or automotive industry, or willingness to learn all things auto parts
• High school diploma or GED; technical or trade school courses or degree preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment
• Strong listening skills and empathy for customers

• Background or passion for automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership
• Experience in a parts store, auction, retail store, auto body/collision
• Knowledge of cataloging and/or inventory management systems
• Customer-centric attitude
• ASE certifications
