** The Role and Why It’s Important
** As a Dollar Fresh Stocker at Hy-Vee, you’ll be a key part of keeping our store shelves full, organized, and ready for customers across Grocery, Dairy, Frozen, Meat, HBC, Wine and Spirits, and other areas of the store. Your work behind the scenes directly shapes the shopping experience our customers love.

** What You’ll Do
** No two shifts are exactly the same, but here’s what you can expect:
* Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly in all areas of the store and helping them find what they need
* Assist customers with finding products, reaching items, carrying heavy purchases, and passing along any feedback or requests to the team
* Unload trucks, open containers, stock shelves, run overstock on risers, and rotate product to ensure freshness
* Label all product containers in the backroom and storage areas with the date received
* Tag shelves with overstock in the back room and understock drawers
* Monitor for mis-picked items, product outs, and wrong deliveries, and report issues accordingly
* Organize stock for greatest efficiency and clean and restock any damaged items
* Operate the cash register to complete customer transactions accurately and efficiently as needed
* Stock supplies including cigarettes, front-end sacks, and department supplies
* Assist with outside maintenance including shoveling snow, spreading ice melt, and returning carts
* Help with cleaning throughout the store including registers, restrooms, breakroom, and backroom
* Assist store management with displays, decorations, and special promotions as needed
* Maintain compliance with Hy-Vee’s dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policies
* Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed

** You don’t need prior experience for this role! We’ll happily train and support you as you grow. To be successful, you’ll need to be able to:
* Follow written and verbal instructions with confidence
* Use basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentages
* Communicate clearly with customers and teammates in a friendly, helpful way
* Stay organized and keep up with the pace of a busy store environment
* Less than a high school diploma or equivalent accepted; up to six months of similar or related experience preferred
