General Function: As a cashier, you'll be part of a growing, innovative brand that prides itself on providing best-in-class customer service. The cashier provides fast and friendly service to customers, assists with questions and requests, operates a cash register, and performs related duties such as packaging, working with drive-up or carry-out services, and replenishing products.

Reports to:

District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers of GM, Perishables, and Store Operations, Service Managers. No positions report to you.

• Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service, showing caring, concern, and patience in all interactions.
• Greet customers warmly and learn their names when possible.
• Assist customers with locating products, handling out-of-reach items, heavy lifting, and passing along suggestions or requests.
• Operate cash register accurately, handle transactions, redeem coupons, and give change.
• Package merchandise, give packages to customers, and assist courtesy personnel.
• Address customer questions and concerns, following up as needed.
• Follow policies on sales of tobacco, liquor, and lottery tickets, and comply with WIC and food stamp regulations.
• Maintain knowledge of product codes and features, stock shelves, rotate merchandise, and keep the area clean.
• Ensure store safety and security, communicate clearly, and review weekly ads for pricing and sales.
• Maintain register area cleanliness and report cash discrepancies.
• Perform sanitation, hygiene, and dress code adherence.
• Arrive on time and follow schedule.

• Assist management with store displays and decorations.
• Know product code dates and assist with register maintenance.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

• Follow detailed instructions and perform basic arithmetic.
• Understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

No formal education or experience required.

• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently and 10 pounds constantly.
• Visual acuity and physical activities such as climbing, stooping, reaching, standing, and walking.

Exposed to temperature extremes, dampness, equipment hazards, and chemicals in a fast-paced environment.

Pallet jack, cash registers, calculator, telephone, intercom, and other store equipment.
