The team supports producers with manure management plans, soil sampling, environmental permitting, GIS mapping, and crop and specialized insurance programs. These services help clients remain compliant with regulations, increase operational efficiency, and safeguard their businesses. Role Description The Agriculture Intern will support consultants and field staff with day-to-day tasks related to agricultural operations and compliance. This internship role is on-site in Iowa Falls, IA and involves assisting with fieldwork such as soil sampling, data collection, and basic GIS mapping activities. The intern will help compile information for manure management plans and environmental permitting, organize records, and prepare reports and documentation for clients.

Responsibilities may also include supporting insurance program administration, conducting basic research, and performing general office tasks as needed to assist the team. This role offers hands-on exposure to agricultural consulting and producer support.

Qualifications

  • Foundational knowledge or coursework in agriculture, agronomy, animal science, environmental science, or a related field.
  • Ability to perform fieldwork, including soil sampling and data collection, and willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions.
  • Basic comfort with technology, including spreadsheets, databases, and mapping or GIS tools (training provided).
  • Strong attention to detail for documentation, recordkeeping, and assisting with compliance-related reports.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow directions and ask questions when needed.
  • Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Interest in agricultural consulting, producer support, and learning about regulatory compliance and insurance programs.
