The Security Supervisor is a hands-on leadership role responsible for building and running MRG's security department day to day as the site scales toward full operational staffing. This role owns daily security operations — supervising guard staff, developing post orders and schedules, and standing up the procedures, training, and coverage plans a growing site needs. The Security Supervisor is the senior security presence on-site in the absence of the IT & Security Manager and works closely with HR, EHS, and Operations to keep the site, its people, and its housing secure.

Key Responsibilities Department Building & Team Leadership
  • Stand up day-to-day security operations, staffing plans, and post assignments as the department scales
  • Recruit, train, and directly supervise security guard staff; build and maintain shift schedules and post coverage
  • Develop and document post orders, standard operating procedures, and shift-turnover protocols
  • Provide hands-on coaching, direction, and performance feedback to security staff
  • Act as the primary security authority on-site in the absence of the IT & Security Manager
Site Security & Access Control
  • Oversee daily access control for employees, contractors, vendors, and visitors
  • Enforce badging, sign-in/sign-out, and escort requirements
  • Conduct and supervise regular patrols of the site, equipment yards, offices, and mancamp housing
  • Monitor restricted areas and ensure consistent, day-to-day enforcement of site security protocols
Incident Response & Reporting
  • Serve as initial incident commander for security-related events and disturbances
  • Respond to and manage security incidents and safety concerns during assigned shifts
  • Complete detailed incident and access reports; elevate appropriately to the IT & Security Manager and site leadership
  • Coordinate with HR, EHS, Operations, and local authorities when needed
Systems, Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor surveillance, alarm, and access control systems and troubleshoot day-to-day issues
  • Identify vulnerabilities or coverage gaps and recommend practical improvements as the department matures
  • Support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement of security procedures
  • Maintain security equipment, post supplies, and documentation
Policy Enforcement & Compliance
  • Enforce company policies, site rules, and mancamp standards in a professional, consistent manner
  • Support MSHA and company security/safety compliance requirements
  • Assist with investigations related to policy violations or asset protection
Executive & Visitor Coverage
  • Lead security planning and coverage for CEO, CFO, and other executive or VIP site visits, coordinating with the IT & Security Manager
  • Conduct advance site assessments ahead of executive visits, identifying and addressing potential security risks
  • Coordinate secure transportation, arrival/departure protocols, and site routing for executives and visiting guests
  • Adjust staffing, post coverage, and access controls to support executive movements without disrupting site operations
  • Maintain close proximity and situational awareness during executive site visits, serving as the primary point of contact for executive security matters
  • Complete executive visit reports and feed lessons learned back into standing post orders
Qualifications Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of security, law enforcement, military, or industrial security experience, including experience in a lead or supervisory capacity
  • Demonstrated ability to build and structure a security function — scheduling, post coverage, SOP development, and staff training
  • Strong situational awareness and sound, independent judgment appropriate to a fast-scaling remote operation
  • Ability to prepare clear, detailed incident and access reports
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work and live onsite at a remote mining operation
