Position Summary
The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and controlled environment at the Mineral Ridge Gold mine site and associated facilities, including the man camp, administration buildings, warehouses, and active construction and operational areas. This role supports asset protection, access control, safety compliance, and incident response while working closely with site leadership, Health & Safety, Human Resources, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities Site Security & Access Control- Control and monitor access to the mine site, man camp, and restricted areas
- Verify employee, contractor, and visitor credentials; issue and track visitor badges
- Enforce site access policies and escort visitors as required
- Monitor gates, checkpoints, and designated access points
- Conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols of the mine site, man camp, parking areas, and perimeter
- Monitor CCTV, alarms, and other security systems (as implemented)
- Identify and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or policy violations
- Ensure compliance with site rules, including housing and man-camp policies
- Respond promptly to security incidents, emergencies, or disturbances
- Coordinate with site leadership, Health & Safety, and emergency services as needed
- Complete accurate incident, shift, and patrol reports
- Preserve incident scenes and follow reporting protocols
- Support MSHA and company safety requirements at all times
- Assist with emergency response procedures, evacuations, and drills
- Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and accountability
- Report unsafe conditions, behaviors, or environmental concerns
- Work collaboratively with Operations, Maintenance, IT/Security, and HR
- Support enforcement of company policies, including Code of Conduct and housing rules
- Assist with special assignments during construction, commissioning, or operational milestones
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check, drug and alcohol screening, and site-specific training
- MSHA New Miner or Experienced Miner certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Strong observation, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Prior security, law enforcement, military, or industrial site experience
- Experience in mining, construction, industrial, or remote environments
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to walk, stand, and patrol for extended periods in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed
- Comfortable working in a remote mine-site environment
This role is field-based across the mine site, man camp, administration buildings, warehouses, and active construction and operational areas, in all weather conditions. The Security Guard works closely with the IT & Security Manager, Health & Safety, Human Resources, and operations teams on a day-to-day basis.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a post-offer background screening, medical exam, and drug/alcohol screening verifying the candidate’s ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
