Des Moines-Winterset Memorials is seeking a hardworking, enthusiastic, and dependable full-time Monument Installer to perform the preparation and installation of granite memorial monuments in cemeteries. This position is based out of our Winterset location.

As a Monument Installer your role will include digging foundations, placing finished monuments, and ensuring each installation meets high-quality standards. This is a hands-on, physical position that involves working outdoors in all weather conditions and requires a strong commitment to completing tasks with precision and care.

• Drive to cemetery gravesites to install monuments, follow maps, diagrams, and written specifications
• Dig trench for foundation using mini-excavator and/or hand tools
• Mix and pour concrete/mortar
• Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete, and waterproof or restore surface
• Remove monument from truck bed and guide onto foundation using skids, hoist, or truck crane
• Set monument in place, according to layout or pattern
• Hand polish and/or machine polish memorials
• Clean and repair memorials as required
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of company vehicles
• Maintain regular attendance and punctuality according to assigned schedule
• Other duties as needed or required

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and minimum of one-year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to operate work-related machinery including excavator, truck-mounted crane, and hand tools
• Able to work in various weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs
• Be insurable
• Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
• Must possess current CDL A or be motivated to obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
• Is reliable, professional and able to follow instructions

• Post offer, pre-employment background checks and reference checks are required
• Employees who currently hold, or who later obtain, a CDL must comply with DOT requirements, including drug testing and DOT physical certification
