Position: Exploration Field Technician – Drill Support
Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract (project-based with extension potential)
We are supporting an active mineral exploration program in southern Nevada and are seeking an Exploration Field Technician – Drill Support to join a small, experienced field team operating in remote desert conditions.
This role is critical to the success of exploration drilling programs and is best suited for someone who wants to be directly involved in field execution rather than large-scale production mining. The team values people who can operate independently, communicate clearly, and take ownership of daily field responsibilities.
The environment is fast-moving and practical. Schedules are consistent, expectations are clear, and performance is measured by reliability, accuracy, and safety—not titles or tenure.
Key ResponsibilitiesDrill Pad & Core Handling
Receive drill core directly from drill crews at the pad
Measure, document, and track core recovery accurately
Safely transport core boxes from drill pads to core facilities
Maintain orderly and traceable core handling procedures
Field Logistics & Site Support
Deliver drill materials, fuel, water, and consumables to site
Support shipping and receiving of drill supplies and tooling
Stage, monitor, and maintain laydown areas, fuel stations, and wells
Assist with drill pad setup, staking, and boundary marking
Site Maintenance
Perform routine site upkeep including trash removal and minor repairs
Support access road maintenance and general site organization
Assist with environmental disturbance tracking as required
Data & Communication
Enter recovery data, core movement logs, and supply tracking accurately
Communicate daily updates via radio, Whats App, and email
Report discrepancies, delays, or safety concerns promptly
Safety
Follow all MSHA/OSHA standards and site-specific safety protocols
Use PPE correctly and promote safe practices on site
Participate in daily safety meetings and task planning
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license (4x4 driving experience strongly preferred)
Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and working long hours outdoors
Comfortable working in remote desert environments
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
Basic data entry and communication skills
Preferred Experience
Prior experience in drilling, exploration, construction, or field labor
Mechanical aptitude and comfort with hand tools
Familiarity with staking, GPS, or site prep activities
MSHA/OSHA training (or willingness to complete)
Typical rotation: 8 days on / 6 days off (may vary by project)
10-hour shifts, day shift
