Seeking strong candidate who is not afraid of hard work, possesses initiative to get the job done, and the ability to repair/maintain/replace related mechanical equipment such as blowers and pumps. Working in the water/wastewater industry is a long-term, rewarding career. Examples of duties to be performed:- Monitor meters, gauges, and accurately report those readings.
- Collect and test water/wastewater samples.
- Clean and maintain mechanical equipment, tanks, filter beds and other work areas.
- Repair and replace water/sewer mains.
- Monthly meter reading of utility water meters, including turn-ons/offs, and rechecks.
- HS diploma or equivalent.
- Possession of a valid driver's license with clean record to operate a company vehicle & be insurable under Commercial Auto Policy.
- CDL license or willing to obtain is helpful.
- Related experience repairing/maintaining equipment & familiar with small hand tools (wrenches, shovels, ladders, saws, etc.).
- Experience in a related field such as plumbing, pipe fitting, meter reading, etc.
- Perform math calculations, such as adding, subtracting, conversions, etc.
- Demonstrated drive to make this a long-term career.
- Accessible for weekend rounds based on a rotating schedule, available to respond to after-hour emergencies, & understand they may have to work a holiday because water flows 24/7/365.
- Must reside or willing to relocate to within a 10-30-minute response time of Humboldt.
