Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Lead Painter to oversee and execute coating and surface preparation work on a long‑term local project expected to run for the next two years.
This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader who can run a jobsite, maintain high safety standards, and deliver high‑quality work while leading a crew.
Location & ScheduleCedar Rapids, IA – 4 days/week (Monday–Thursday, 10‑hour shifts) – Pay: $34.43/hour + benefits.

- Lead daily jobsite operations and coordinate crew activities
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to spec
- Attend and participate in daily/weekly safety meetings
- Maintain accurate jobsite condition logs and documentation
- Communicate with project managers and other trades
- Inspect work for quality and compliance
- Train and mentor crew members
- Operate and maintain sandblasting equipment (sand pots)
- Apply coatings using industrial sprayers
- Mix and apply epoxies and specialty coatings
- Perform proper surface preparation (blasting, cleaning, profiling)
- Ensure coating thickness and adhesion meet specifications
- 3+ years of industrial painting experience (lead or foreman preferred)
- Proven ability to run a jobsite and lead a crew
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety protocols
- Ability to complete daily logs and communicate clearly
- Reliable, accountable, and production‑driven
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must be able to pass a pre‑employment drug screening
- Ability to work full 10‑hour shifts (Monday–Thursday)
- Physically able to perform job duties (lifting, climbing, standing)
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Experience on large‑scale industrial or commercial projects
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Industrial jobsite conditions (heights, confined spaces, outdoor exposure)
- PPE required at all times
- Physically demanding role
- Stable, long‑term work

- A consistent 4‑day schedule with 3‑day weekends
