Civil Craft Laborer Journeyman - Highland

Summary

Mortenson is currently seeking a Laborer Journeyman responsible for preparing, handling, and supplying materials to other crafts.

• Load and unload equipment
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging
• Level ground for scaffolding
• Tend mortar and grout
• Lift, unload, move, set, and shovel mortar and grout between wheelbarrows and buckets
• General cleanup and clearing of debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and unloading or burning debris
• Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete
• Vibrate concrete
• Provide work direction and guidance to Laborer I, II, Helpers, and Apprentice
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• All other duties as assigned

• Completion of a two‑year apprenticeship program
• Experience in construction (preferred)
• Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non‑powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, jackhammers, forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies
• Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude; professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills; effective communication; openness to diverse input and feedback
• Repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs
• Position description may change without notice
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling over 50 lbs will be performed with assistance of another team member or equipment
