Description- Provide face-to-face customer service at off‑site locations.
- Diagnose, repair, and recondition various light and heavy construction equipment.
- Model daily practices: align with company mission and core business values; collaborate with key internal/external resources; participate in ongoing self‑development.
- Work safely at all times and adhere to applicable safety policies.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Perform complex repairs and troubleshooting offsite with minimal supervision.
- Conduct detailed diagnosis of equipment malfunctions and failure analysis.
- Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components per CAT specifications.
- Test, make adjustments, and verify proper operation of all repairs and adjustments.
- Prepare and complete all job‑related documents, write service reports, order parts, and maintain clear customer records.
- Act as a team leader and mentor/coaches lower‑level technicians.
- Participate in the quotation of work orders.
- Operate equipment and vehicles with the necessary licenses and certificates, maintain vehicle inspection records, daily inspections and driver logs as required by DOT.
- Adhere to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
- Maintain all company equipment, tools, and vehicle in good, clean, and working order.
- Communicate job progress to supervisor and customer as needed.
- Complete assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat rate time and re‑work standards.
- Work overtime as required by workload and customers' needs.
- Complete all assigned Technician Training Path courses and safety training in a timely manner.
- Project professionalism with internal and external customers, including personal appearance.
- Apply advanced knowledge of equipment and tools, including designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Apply advanced knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, engines, undercarriage, and electrical systems.
- Demonstrate proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems.
- Perform advanced diagnostic and trouble‑shooting, operating and controlling equipment or systems.
- Determine the tools and equipment needed for a job.
- Operate a crane and forklift.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair.
- Make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects.
- 3 years of shop experience with heavy equipment and 2 years of experience in troubleshooting and rebuilding diesel and natural gas engines.
- License requirements:
Valid Driver's license or ability to obtain upon hire; valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and acceptable driving record or ability to obtain upon hire; certifications/licenses required to operate crane and forklift or ability to obtain upon hire. - Travel requirements: 25% domestic travel required to various worksites.
