Field Service Test Technicians travel to customer sites (industrial & commercial) to inspect, test, troubleshoot, perform start‑up and collect data of low, medium and high voltage (480 V to 600 kV) electrical systems. They are required to travel to customer job sites across the state and bordering states and perform a range of tests including instrument transformer tests, power transformer testing (Doble, TTR, Insulation Resistance, etc.),
cable testing (Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot), automatic transfer switch troubleshooting, low/medium/high‑voltage switch gear and circuit breaker testing, moderate relay calibration and power metering. Technicians also rotate emergency on‑call duty and respond to customer emergencies in a timely manner.
- Associate’s degree in Electrical Power & Controls or EE degree from an ABET‑accredited college; equivalent military experience in electrical power production is acceptable.
- NETA Certification (III or IV), Electrician license, OSHA 30‑hour, MSHA, NFPA 70‑E, CPR/First Aid/AED training (training can be provided).
- Minimum 5 + years of experience performing switch gear testing and troubleshooting.
- Proficient PC skills including email, internet, data entry and Microsoft Excel;
PowerDB experience is a plus. - Adherence to all electrical safety procedures.
- Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to drive locally/regionally for periodic overnight travel; willingness for regular overnight domestic and occasional international travel.
- Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours, overtime, occasional weekends, holidays, and nights.
- Ability to crawl, climb, stand, and lift up to 100 lb with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without employer‑sponsored visa.
- Must pass pre‑employment drug and criminal background checks.
- Must read, write, and speak English fluently.
- U.S. passport and TWIC card are a plus.
