Location:
Western United States – varies (NV). Position type:
Full Time. Salary range: $35.70–$42.00 per hour. Shift: Day. Jobsite is near Reno, NV.
Travel:
Road Warrior.
- Proficient interpretation and application of utilities blueprints as applied to the electrical scope.
- Follows all live‑work policies and procedures.
- Interprets and applies requirements of NEC for all installations, including special systems and occupancy.
- Reads UBC, NFPA‑72, NFPA‑70E, construction safety orders and all applicable code requirements proficiently.
- Investigates or assists in investigation and reporting of near misses, incidents and injuries involving jobsite employees.
- Supervises, directs, monitors, trains and works alongside one Electrician Trainee and/or one Apprentice to ensure a safe and timely completion of assignments.
- Demonstrates proficiency in all aspects of trade‑related materials, components, equipment, systems, methods of installation, safety procedures, safe work practices, basic calculations, blueprint and drawing interpretation & troubleshooting.
- Operates any hand and power tools and equipment necessary to perform all trade‑associated assignments.
- Effectively communicates technical information with peers, assistants, project supervision and other trades.
- Proficient in the interpretation and application of electrical, architectural, civil, structural and plumbing blueprints as applied to the electrical scope.
- Completes multi‑task assignments involving all aspects of the trade via verbal and written instructions, field sketches, schematics, one‑line diagrams and blueprint reference.
- Generates complete tools and materials list for assigned tasks.
- Performs assignment lay‑outs and preparation for installation via verbal and written instructions, field sketches and blueprint reference.
- Instructs employees assisting with correct operation of tools and equipment, safe work practices, electrical principles and applicable NEC.
- Provides useful input on employee evaluations.
- Performs troubleshooting and problem resolution in electrical circuits, systems and equipment in situations where the EEW policy does not apply (where no shock or arc flash hazard exist and no permit is required).
- Performs metering and testing up to 480‑volts maximum in situations where the EEW policy does not apply.
- Shows proficiency with the use of volt meter, ammeter and insulation/resistance meter.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and eagerness to learn the trade.
- Demonstrates reliability and initiative.
- Abides by company rules, policies and safety requirements and reports all violations and incidents to the immediate supervisor or safety manager.
- Performs all tasks in a timely manner to meet production standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Holds a current State Certified Electrical Journeyman license, if mandated by the state.
- Regularly required to talk in order to communicate detailed, important, and accurate instructions to internal and external customers.
- Frequently required walking for long and short distances, including between worksites.
- Frequently required stand for sustained periods of time.
- Frequently required bending or twisting at the neck and torso.
- Frequently required crouching, squatting, stooping, and kneeling.
- Frequently required use and climb ladders to work from heights.
- Occasionally required use of scissor, boom or other personnel lifts to access the work area.
- Frequently required reaching above head, forward, grabbing, grasping, pinching, handling material and tools using upper extremities.
- Frequently required repetitive motion tasks.
- Frequently required pulling or pushing using force.
- Frequently required lifting objects from low to high positions in horizontal to vertical motions, up to 25lbs.
- Occasionally required lifting objects up to 50lbs with assistance.
- Occasionally sitting in chair, vehicle, or equipment.
- Required to maintain near and far site visual acuity with or without correction; must inspect small parts, use measurement devices and identify hazards.
