Position SummaryThe Senior Technician is an experienced field professional responsible for advanced diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of HVAC systems. This role handles complex service calls independently, supports other technicians through guidance and example, and plays a key role in delivering high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities Advanced Technical Service- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential and light commercial HVAC systems
- Perform advanced system testing, airflow analysis, and performance verification
- Complete preventive maintenance and system inspections
- Identify root causes of failures and recommend long-term solutions
- Explain technical findings and repair options clearly to customers
- Present system upgrades, replacements, and IAQ solutions as appropriate
- Support service agreement growth and add-on sales
- Maintain professional and respectful customer interactions
- Ensure work meets company standards, manufacturer requirements, and local codes
- Minimize callbacks through accurate diagnosis and workmanship
- Follow all safety procedures and regulatory requirements
- Complete service documentation accurately and on time
- Provide informal mentoring and on-the-job guidance
- Share feedback with management on recurring issues or training needs
- Maintain service vehicle, tools, and equipment
- Participate in on-call rotation as required
- Represent the company positively in the field
- 4–7 years of HVAC service experience
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Proven reliability and professionalism
- State HVAC license (if applicable)
- Experience with residential and light commercial systems
- Advanced HVAC certifications or technical training
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Customer-focused with excellent communication skills
- Self-motivated and dependable
- Field-based role with daily customer interaction
- Ability to work in attics, crawlspaces, and outdoor conditions
- On-call or after-hours availability as needed
