Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Description
The Machinist/Tool & Die Technician will assess damaged tooling and stamping dies to determine the extent of repair necessary. Interpret blueprints on new parts, sketch or lay out the work to build tools and fixtures. Oversee the work of others or build new tooling independently.
Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- Minimum 2-year technical degree or relevant work experience.
- Ability to diagnose damaged tooling and stamping dies to determine solution.
- Install and remove dies and tooling from machinery.
- Operated various machine tools.
- Knowledge of shop mathematics, machining and assembly methods, properties of sheet metal under pressure, and metal-forming presses.
- Ability to read and understand blue prints
- Competence in reading precision gauges.
- Quality directed work attitude
- Experience in diagnosis and repair of industrial machinery and equipment.
- Perform regularly schedule and preventive maintenance on tooling and dies.
- Highly motivated and able to work independently while using good judgment.
- Ability to fabricate assemblies using machining and welding techniques.
- Basic knowledge of computers and programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Effectively communicate using written and oral communication skills.
