- Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors
- Installs, maintains, inspects, tests, and repairs DWV, potable water, steam systems, storm water, and HVAC systems.
- Works from blueprints, specifications and drawings to install and maintain DWV, potable water systems, connections, steam systems, radiators, fixtures, HVAC units, and other systems as described above.
- Installs, maintains, inspects, tests, and repairs systems according to the requirements of the City of White Plains, State of New York, County of Westchester, NYS and County Health Departments, NFPA, The Joint Commission, and all other authorities having jurisdiction.
- Calculates required materials and equipment needed for jobs and specific flow rates.
- Locates points where pipes pass through wall structures and determines that there are no impassable structures or holes that might cause structural weaknesses.
- Cuts, threads and assembles pipe and tubing.
- Secures tube or pipe to wall, ceiling or floor with wires, brackets and patented fittings.
- Sets and secures radiators and other heating and ventilating units, and connects valves, traps, thermostats to pipe system.
- Fits pipe assembly into position by matching flanges with adjacent assemblies, blocking and bracing assembly, bolting flanges together and performing necessary welding.
- Tests lines for leaks by filling them with gases or water under pressure and observing pressure gauge for fall in pressure.
- Maintains preventative maintenance schedules
- Attends meetings as required.
- Assists in snow removal as needed.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Must have high degree of mechanical expertise
- Plumbing Journeymen’s License
- Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience as a plumber
- Valid, clean driver’s license
