Ziegler CAT has an opening for a full‑time, experienced Field Service Technician to work on construction and agricultural equipment. We are looking for a dedicated employee with excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to help deliver top‑notch service as a mechanic to our rapidly growing customer base.

The pay range for this position is $38.00 to $51.00 per hour, dependent on skills, experience, education and location. Pay may vary by up to 10% depending on applicant location. Full‑time positions are benefits eligible and include:

- Diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment including compactors, excavators, loaders, dozers, and other heavy construction equipment, as well as agricultural equipment including tractors, combines, balers, sprayers, tillage equipment, and planters in the area.
- Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed; a company truck is provided.
- Use a high degree of independent judgment to maintain and repair mechanical, hydraulic, gas, diesel, and electrical systems at branch or customer locations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhere to all safety procedures, and keep the service vehicle clean and properly maintained.
- Interact positively with manager and team members to satisfy customer needs.
- Assist other technicians as needed in troubleshooting repairs.
- Communicate job status to supervisor and confirm completion before receiving the next assignment.
- Maintain paperwork documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily/job basis.
- Document labor, addition of segments, ensuring work orders can be closed and billed as communicated with the customer.
- Respond to after‑hour emergency calls as directed by supervisor.
- Identify and communicate the need for parts for inventory.
- Perform other duties as assigned/required.
- 2‑year technical degree or high school diploma and several years of comparable mechanic experience.
- 5+ years of relevant diesel equipment repair experience, preferably some field experience.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, track systems, components, electrical, and fuel systems.
- Previous experience with CAT equipment;
Challenger tractors, combines or hay equipment; LEXION combines; AGCO RoGators, Terra Gators, and Spra Coupes;
Sunflower tillage equipment; or White Planters is a plus but not required. - Ability to diagnose all equipment without supervision; able to read, follow, understand, and communicate schematics.
- Desire to provide outstanding, professional customer service, strong attention to detail, excellent problem‑solving skills, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Willing and able to respond to after‑hour emergency calls as directed by supervisor.
- Basic computer skills.
- Own mechanic tool set.
- Must have and maintain a clean driving record.
- Class A CDL or willingness to obtain one within a defined period of time.
- Obtain a DOT medical certification card.
- Pass a DOT pre‑employment drug screen & physical.
