Ironworker – Blue Grass, IA

As an Ironworker, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and reinforcing structural steel and iron components used in construction projects. This role involves working at heights and in various job site conditions to ensure structural integrity and alignment according to project specifications and safety standards. You must follow all construction guidelines, safety protocols, and quality requirements to complete work safely and efficiently.

Hourly Rate: $28–$30/hour, $100 per diem paid 7 days
Expected Hours: 4/10s
Duration: Through mid-October
Start Date: ASAP
Openings: 3 Ironworkers

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Install and connect structural steel components such as beams, columns, and girders.
  • Align and connect structural steel from boom lifts.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Align and position steel structures using cranes, rigging, and hand tools.
  • Bolt, weld, and secure steel components into place.
  • Install reinforcing steel (rebar) for concrete structures as required.
  • Inspect connections and ensure structural stability and compliance.
  • Follow all safety procedures, especially when working at heights.

Experience

  • Previous experience as an Ironworker or in a related construction role preferred.
  • Familiarity with structural steel, rigging, and welding techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience aligning and connecting structural steel.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in physically demanding conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
