Electrical Lineman Hartley

The City of Hartley, Iowa/Hartley Municipal Utilities is accepting applications for a full-time utility lineman.

• Operate and maintain Hartley Municipal Utilities electrical system
• Construct and maintain all aspects of the electrical distribution system.
• Carry out all regulatory paperwork, testing, readings and surveys so the electric utility remains in compliance with all regulations
• Install, maintain and read meters
• Operate equipment necessary to carry out construction and maintenance of the electrical system (backhoe, trencher, mini excavator, dump truck, boom truck, digger derek etc.)
• Work safely, following safety procedures
• Carry out work orders and assigned tasks in a timely manner
• Assist other departments as necessary
• Willing to be part of a rotating on-call schedule
• Willing to work after hours as needed

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Completion of an Accredited Powerline program
• Must have a self-starting, strong work ethic
• Must be very detail and safety oriented
• Must possess and maintain a valid Iowa Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with air brake endorsement or be able to acquire within 6 months of employment
• Will be required to be certified in First Aid and CPR
• Must have knowledge of use and care of appropriate safety gear and devices
• Must be able to carry out the physical demands of all aspects of electric operations and maintenance
• Must be willing to work outdoors and occasionally in adverse weather conditions
