About Camp Tanager

Established in 1926, Camp Tanager provides day and overnight camp programs to over 1,000 campers each summer. Campers from all backgrounds are welcome to attend our programs designed for fun, fitness, friendship and learning. Camp Tanager was voted Coolest Camp in Iowa in 2016 by The Philadelphia Inquirer for our unique and expansive program offerings.

Job Details

The Kitchen Assistant plays a vital support role in ensuring the daily operations of the kitchen run smoothly and efficiently. This position focuses on non-machinery related food preparation tasks, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, and assisting the culinary team with general duties. The Kitchen Assistant contributes to creating a safe, organized, and welcoming kitchen environment in alignment with health regulations and facility standards.

Acceptable Experience/Training/Education

• Must be 16 years old
• Basic understanding of food handling and hygiene practices
