Overview

Looking for meaningful work that transforms lives? As an In‑Home Family Services Specialist, you’ll support families in their own homes—helping them build stronger relationships, develop parenting skills, and overcome challenges. Your guidance can keep families together and give children the foundation they deserve. The role is based in Spencer, IA and offers full‑time or part‑time shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and on‑call hours.

Responsibilities
  • Provide in‑home support and teach practical skills to strengthen families.
  • Connect families with community resources such as schools, healthcare, and social services.
  • Offer crisis intervention and guidance when needed.
  • Build strong relationships with families and collaborate with professionals like teachers, doctors, and social workers.
  • Develop service plans, monitor progress, and maintain accurate documentation.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field and at least 1 year of experience working with children and families.
  • For rural Iowa locations:
    Associate’s degree with 2 years of experience, or 4 years of combined education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (mileage reimbursed).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Interest in certification as a Parenting Instructor and facilitation of family decision‑making meetings.
