Location: Greene County Community School District – Jefferson, Iowa

Job Type: Regular Route Driving and/or Activity Driving

Salary: $45.35 for Route Rates; $20.03 for Activity Rates

Position Summary: As a School Bus Driver for Greene County CSD, you will play a vital role in ensuring students are transported safely to and from school and school-related activities. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are dependable, enjoy working with children, and are committed to student safety.

• Safely operate a school bus along designated routes
• Pick up and drop off students at scheduled stops
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus
• Maintain discipline and ensure safety rules are followed on the bus
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
• Follow all district policies and state regulations regarding school transportation
• Report any concerns or incidents to the Transportation Director

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
• Valid Iowa Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with School Bus (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements – or willingness to obtain with district support
• Clear driving record and background check
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screening
• Good communication skills and a calm, student-centered demeanor
• Dependable and punctual

• Typical routes include morning and afternoon shifts during the school year
• Opportunities for additional driving (field trips, activities, etc.) available
• Substitute and part-time roles also open
