Transportation Associate

Transportation Associates will perform trailer moves in the trailer yard, coordinate yard activities, conduct audits, complete driver training programs, and operate a variety of vehicle types based on business need.

• Make safety a priority by following and enforcing company rules and safety measures for all vehicle operators and yard entrants, including vendors and senior team members.
• Perform functions within the yard to support site operations, internal transportation teams, and external carriers, ensuring trailers arrive and depart on time with zero defects.
• Be professionally trained to operate Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on non‑public roads or in the yard for dock and parking movements.
• Learn and comply with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). and Amazon policies (size, weight, route designations, parking, reporting, break periods, etc.).
• Complete vehicle inspection reports and report maintenance or delivery issues to managers.
• Follow hostler and delivery schedules, track and report working hours and breaks in compliance with Amazon policy, federal and state regulations, all traffic laws, and weather conditions.
• Support the business as needed by serving as a peer trainer or working at nearby site locations.
• Drive, maneuver, and load or unload a truck using approved equipment such as a pallet jack.

• Valid and active driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 21 years or older.
• Ability to lift up to 49 pounds, stand and walk for shifts up to 12 hours, and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, reach, and use stairs.
• Work 40 hours per week with flexibility for overtime, weekends, nights, and holidays.
• Proficiency in English and ability to adhere to safety guidelines.

• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with diverse audiences.
• Experience building strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and external vendors.
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
• Completion of Amazon Career Choice CDL course.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products.

Location:

USA, IA, Bondurant. Pay: $26.00 – $27.00 per hour.
