Sign On Bonus! Class A or B CDL RequiredWhat you will do:
- Drive a truck equipped with a concrete mixer to deliver concrete mix to job sites.
- Perform pre‑trip inspection of the ready‑mix truck pursuant to D.O.T. regulations. Check fluid levels, engine oil, antifreeze, tire pressure, brakes, and other driver‑operated controls.
- Fill the water tank before each delivery by placing a rubber hose into the water tank and filling after checking that all valves are shut.
- Use a map book and experience to take the most direct route to the job site to ensure on‑time delivery.
- Safely drive the truck to the job site and arrive with the desired slump within customer or job specifications.
- Safely maneuver the truck in often very unstable ground conditions and observe customers’ equipment and site conditions.
- Add necessary ingredients such as fibers, chemical admixtures, cement, or integral colors at the plant or job site, as well as other products.
- Place chutes from the fender or hanging rack onto the main chute at the rear of the truck for discharge. After discharge, wash the chutes and return them to the appropriate location on the truck.
- After each shift, wash the truck with a hose and brush, including the use of an acidic solution when necessary.
- Communicate with dispatch via two‑way radio and a truck‑status signaling system.
- Call out each day for start time.
- Perform a post‑trip inspection of the truck pursuant to D.O.T. regulations.
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor/management.
- High school diploma (minimum) or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to pass Federal Department of Transportation drug screen and physical.
- Maintain a driving record in accordance with federal and state motor carrier regulations.
- Handle cash and make change.
- Deal with customers and other employees diplomatically.
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees. Must read, write and speak in English.
- Maintain Department of Transportation Health condition.
- Average work hours: 10 hours per day, 4–6 days per week.
- Lift 50 lbs. frequently.
- Work in extreme temperatures (cold or hot).
