performs a wide range of store keeping duties. Responsibilities include ordering, receiving, sorting, issuing supplies/equipment; analyzing needs; evaluating products; inventory control; and recordkeeping.

essential duties and responsibilities
  • inventory management
  • maintain stock records; conduct physical and perpetual inventory.
  • evaluate stock levels, shelf life, space needs, reorder, as necessary.
  • evaluate products based on user needs and cost analysis.
  • place supply orders; communicate with vendors, service providers, and district staff.
  • receiving & distribution
  • inspect incoming deliveries; verify against orders and invoices.
  • store supplies by user department protocols; issue and deliver requested items.
  • recordkeeping & reporting
  • maintain accurate purchase, account, and inventory records.
  • reconcile purchases with budget allocations.
  • prepare statistical and damage reports using computerized systems.
qualifications

any combination of education and experience that could likely provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and skills would be:

education: equivalent to a hs diploma

experience: 3 years of advanced journey-level storeroom/warehouse experience, including lead duties.

licenses/certificates: valid nevada driver's license (or ability to obtain).

  • may require additional certifications based on specific area of responsibility.

knowledge of:

  • knowledge of warehousing, inventory, and store keeping methods.
  • knowledge of purchasing principles, vendor management, and cost analysis.
  • knowledge of handling/storage of specialized materials (e.g., hazardous, shelf-life limited).
  • knowledge of contracts, purchase orders, and shipping documentation.
  • knowledge of inventory software and microsoft office (word, excel, outlook, access).
  • knowledge of automotive and heavy equipment parts sourcing.
  • knowledge of budget preparation basics.

skill in:

  • skill in applying purchasing protocols.
  • skill in the use of computerized systems and parts catalogs efficiently.
  • skill in understanding and implementing safety and warehouse procedures.
  • skill in communicating effectively with trades/crafts employees and vendors.
  • skill in leading, training, and managing store team workflows.

  • ability to lift and transport heavy or bulky items.
  • ability to order diverse trade-specific materials (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, electrical).
