Cummings Architecture + Interiors is a distinguished firm specializing in residential design throughout eastern Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. Situated in the historic downtown of Ipswich along the Ipswich River, we are a vibrant boutique architecture and interior design practice. Our firm has received numerous awards and has been published locally and nationally.
We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced interior designer or interior architect to join our team. Our portfolio includes new custom residential homes, additions, historic preservation, and unique commercial designs.
Qualifications- Proven track record in project management within the luxury design industry
- Strong organizational and communication skills, thriving in a fast‑paced, collaborative, high‑volume environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Interior Design, Architecture, or related field
- Minimum of three years of professional project management experience, preferably with a luxury interior design firm or in construction
- Experience managing large‑scale, high‑end, high‑volume design projects from conception to completion
- Extremely strong organization, leadership, and communication skills
- Proficient in Vector Works, AutoCAD, and Sketch Up
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to resolve project issues professionally and hyper‑proactive in anticipating challenges
- Willingness to travel when needed and participate in weekly site visits
- Lead and manage the success of our firm’s projects nationwide
- Work closely with principal designer Amanda Lantz, the design team, and outside contractors & vendors
- Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining timelines, milestones, and deliverables
- Coordinate internal design team and external vendors to ensure seamless communication throughout the project lifecycle
- Anticipate challenges and assist with problem‑solving; act and communicate proactively
- Update the software system with detailed notes on items, clients, vendors, and projects
- Monitor budgets and expenses; collaborate with procurement, logistics, and accounting to stay within financial parameters
- Implement rigorous quality control measures to meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and design
- Serve as main point of contact for architects, builders, contractors, vendors, warehouse & delivery companies, and the design team
- Identify risks and develop proactive strategies to mitigate and resolve issues
- Coordinate high‑standard item check‑in processes, deliveries, and installations with the Procurement manager and principal designer
- Assist with project installations when needed
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure a reliable, high‑quality network
