Technical Interior Designer

Cummings Architecture + Interiors is a distinguished firm specializing in residential design throughout eastern Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. Situated in the historic downtown of Ipswich along the Ipswich River, we are a vibrant boutique architecture and interior design practice. Our firm has received numerous awards and has been published locally and nationally.

We are currently in search of a motivated and experienced architectural designer or architect to support our interior team. Our portfolio encompasses a diverse range of projects, including new custom residential homes, additions, historic preservation, and unique commercial designs.

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:

• You're a fit for this role if you have experience in construction documentation, are proficient in Vector Works, and enjoy working with a team of architects and interior designers that bring design dreams to life
• This is a good role for someone who is technically proficient and enjoys working with a highly creative, collaborative team dedicated to innovative problem-solving and design excellence
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Design
• 3-7 years of professional experience
• Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques
• Experience in construction document preparation and field observation
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
• Proficient in Vector Works, AutoCAD, Sketch Up, and other 3D modeling software

• As a Technical Designer, you will produce technical documentation and communicate project progress to team members to ensure success
• Provide project team coordination for finished plans, specifications, and material selections; ensure design intent is incorporated into the construction documentation
• Produce accurate technical and contract documentation for the construction of the project
• Work with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
• Utilize hand and 3D software renderings to communicate design concepts
