Job Description

Ipswich Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, qualified professional to fill a unique dual‑role position for the upcoming school year. This full‑time position combines a 0.6 FTE Health Teacher role with a 0.4 FTE Athletic Trainer role, offering a comprehensive opportunity to impact student wellness both in the classroom and on the athletic field.

Health Education (0.6 FTE)
  • Teach three (3) sections of Health Education per semester.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned lesson plans that promote physical, mental, and emotional well‑being.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, maintaining accurate grading records and constructive feedback.
  • Create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
Athletic Training (0.4 FTE)
  • Fulfill the comprehensive duties of an Athletic Trainer for the duration of the entire school year.
  • Provide preventative care, emergency triage, evaluation, and rehabilitation for student‑athletes.
  • Oversee injury management, concussion protocols, and return‑to‑play clearances in coordination with medical professionals.
  • Attend home athletic events and practices as designated by the Athletic Director.
Required Qualifications & Licensures
  • Valid Massachusetts Health/Family Consumer Science License issued by the DESE.
  • Valid Athletic Trainer License issued by the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Allied Health Professionals.
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, coaches, and administration.
Job Requirements
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
