Lab Associate (Microbiology / Molecular Biology)
Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Laboratory Associate to support microbiology and molecular biology activities in a fast-paced lab environment. This role will focus on media and buffer preparation, fermentation support, and analytical testing using standard laboratory techniques.

Key Responsibilities

+ Prepare media and buffers to support laboratory operations

+ Process fermentation samples using standard analytical techniques

+ Perform environmental monitoring and maintain aseptic conditions

+ Conduct cell viability assays and protein analysis (PAGE gels)

+ Assist with fermentation scale-up activities and analytical equipment operation

+ Support microbial identification and perform qPCR analysis

+ Maintain accurate documentation of lab activities

Required Skills

+ Microbiology techniques

+ PCR / qPCR

+ Protein purification and analysis

+ Cell culture and cell-based assays

+ Aseptic technique

+ Media, buffer, and sample preparation

+ Fermentation processes

+ Environmental monitoring

Basic Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related field

+ 0+ years of professional experience (entry-level candidates encouraged to apply)

+ 2+ years of hands-on lab experience (academic lab work acceptable)

+

Experience with aseptic technique and cell culture

Experience Level

+ Entry to Intermediate level

Nice to Have

+

Experience with fermentation processes

+ Exposure to molecular biology techniques (qPCR, microbial )

+ Familiarity with protein analysis methods

This is a Contract position based out of Ipswich, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
