Development Scientist I – Custom Product Development Team
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development and delivery of custom products for NEB customers. This role involves direct engagement with customers to deeply understand their needs and actively collaborate with various teams at NEB to develop innovative custom solutions across a broad range of product portfolios.
Responsibilities- Engage directly with customers in conjunction with the NEB commercial team to gather insights, feedback, and ensure the custom products meet customer expectations and market needs.
- Lead and contribute to the full cycle of custom product development, from evaluation of customer inquiries to commercialization.
- Design, optimize, and validate new assays and methodologies, ensuring they meet quality and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve critical milestones and customer timelines for custom development projects.
- Provide scientific expertise and support to customers.
- Prepare and present reports and updates on project progress, scientific discoveries, and technical approaches to stakeholders and at scientific conferences.
- Ph.D. with 2+ years of relevant experience preferred; candidates with a master’s and 5+ years of relevant experience in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or related fields will be considered.
- Proven track record of working effectively on fast‑paced projects and delivering results.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multifunctional teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising on quality.
- Prior experience in product development within the biotechnology sector, with a strong focus on customer interaction preferred.
- Deep background in collaborative projects.
- Flexibility to transition from project to project.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Scientific curiosity.
- Estimated base salary range: $75,000–$90,000.
- Annual discretionary profit‑sharing bonus.
