Recruiting on behalf of a growing power engineering contractor
Arc Recruitment is working with a reputable electrical infrastructure contractor to appoint an experienced HV/LV Cable Jointer to join their construction and maintenance team based in Ipswich.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled jointer with experience up to 33kV, looking to work across a varied portfolio of network and client projects within a well-established and supportive business.
The Role
You will be responsible for carrying out HV and LV jointing, terminations, and associated works across new installations, fault response, and maintenance activities. The role will involve both planned project work and reactive call-outs, depending on operational requirements.
A strong understanding of switching procedures, safe systems of work, and permit control is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out HV/LV cable jointing and terminations up to 33kV
Undertake switching operations and receive permits in line with safety rules
Perform testing and fault location on distribution networks and electrical installations
Certify new installations and support off-system fault diagnosis
Assist with planning and coordination of repair resources where required
Deliver works across small and large-scale construction projects
Order materials and coordinate with suppliers to meet programme deadlines
Liaise with clients to ensure project milestones and KPIs are achieved
Support reactive maintenance and emergency response works as needed
Ensure compliance with DNO/IDNO G81 standards and client specifications
About You
Proven experience as an HV/LV Jointer working up to 33kV
Knowledge of DNO/IDNO G81 requirements and industry standards
Experience with switching, live working (where authorised), and permit systems
Strong fault-finding and testing capability
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider construction team
Good communication skills and client-facing experience
This role offers a competitive salary of £40,000–£45,000, alongside long-term stability and the opportunity to work on a diverse range of electrical infrastructure projects.
