AboutPGM Carpentry manages the carpentry requirements across over 40 new build sites including the whole of Essex, Suffolk and London.
We strive on making sure our work is up to standards and take pride in making sure our workforce is taken care of!
We are currently looking for candidates who are interested in becoming apprentices and joining the carpentry sector of the building world. This will be a 3-year course where you'll work under the guidance and direction of an experienced carpenter or craftsperson. You’ll carry out all aspects of carpentry from new‑built homes to refurbishments.
Working WeekMonday - Friday, 7.30am - 4.30pm, but you will have 1 day a week at college (TBC). Total hours per week: 40.0
What you will be doing?- Learning the process of understanding drawings and work in accordance with specifications
- Taking measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
- Following health & safety policy and procedures, including the wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE) where needed
- Using various tools, equipment and materials safely
- Roofing
- First fixing
- Window installation
- Cladding
- Decking
- Second fixing
- Finals
Training Provider: Multi Trades Training Ltd
Apprenticeship Standard: Carpentry and joinery (level
2)
During this course, you will be attending college once a week with the rest of the week spent on site.
The college course will be 2 years and once it’s completed you will gain your Level 2 in Carpentry and Joinery and spend the final year as an improver honing your skills.
Functional skills level 2 in English and maths (if required)
