Mobile Welder

About the role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Mobile Welder to join our Asset and Technology Solutions business, working across a variety of projects throughout the UK. This is a mobile role where you will provide both depot and on-site support to ensure plant and equipment are maintained to the highest standards.

You will play a vital role in keeping operations running efficiently by carrying out inspections, maintenance, and repairs, while working closely with project teams and plant operators to minimise downtime and maximise performance.

• Carrying out welding, fabrication, maintenance, and repair activities on mechanical and non‑mechanical plant and equipment
• Inspecting machinery, diagnosing faults, and determining the most effective repair solutions
• Identifying and sourcing replacement parts to support repairs and maintenance activities
• Coordinating with project teams to schedule works and reduce disruption to project programmes
• Conducting regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
• Working closely with plant operators to ensure equipment is operating correctly and resolving issues efficiently
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance, repairs, parts used, and time spent
• Reporting faults, defects, and issues promptly to management
• Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in line with risk assessments and work package plans

We’re looking for a proactive, reliable individual who takes pride in their work and is comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, multi‑site environment.

Essential skills and experience:

• Formal qualification in Welding and Fabrication
• Proven experience working with heavy plant and equipment, ideally within the ground engineering sector
• Knowledge of both mechanical and non‑mechanical plant
• Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills
• Basic IT skills

Certifications required:

• CSCS Gold Card
• NPORS MEWP Operation
• IPAF 3a & 3b+
• IPAF Safety Harness and Lanyard
• NPORS Abrasive Wheels
• Oxy Propane Burning qualification

• Self‑motivated with a strong focus on delivering results

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong work ethic and willingness to go the extra mile when required
• Able to work to deadlines in a demanding operational environment
