Role Description

As a Heavy Forklift Engineer at Impact Handling, you will work on-site in Kent in a full-time capacity, focusing on the maintenance, repair, and inspection of heavy-duty forklifts and associated material handling equipment. Day-to-day activities include diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, performing scheduled servicing, and carrying out corrective repairs to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. You will complete accurate service reports, maintain records of work performed, and liaise with the service team to prioritize jobs and minimize equipment downtime.

The role involves supporting customers and colleagues with technical guidance, adhering to all health and safety standards, and contributing to continuous improvement of service quality and reliability.

Qualifications
  • Relevant technical qualifications in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic engineering, or equivalent experience maintaining heavy industrial or material handling equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities, familiarity with diagnostic tools, and a solid understanding of health and safety regulations related to lifting and warehouse operations.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and schematics, maintain clear documentation, and communicate effectively with customers and team members.
  • Full, clean driving license and flexibility to work on different types of heavy lift trucks; previous experience in forklift service is absolutely essential.
