About the Role
We're recruiting for a Fabric Technician to join a small on-site maintenance team at a college in Ipswich.
This is a permanent, site-based role offering a varied workload, covering general building maintenance, basic carpentry and plumbing, along with building services maintenance tasks.
You'll work as part of a team of three, helping to keep the college buildings safe, functional and well maintained.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out general fabric maintenance and handyperson duties.
* Complete basic carpentry repairs and minor plumbing tasks.
* Change filters on air handling units (AHUs).
* Undertake Legionella-related testing and water temperature checks.
* Assist with general building services maintenance as required.
* Support the on-site team with day-to-day maintenance requirements.
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in fabric maintenance, handyperson work or general building maintenance.
* Practical skills in basic carpentry and plumbing.
* Experience carrying out general building repairs.
* A hands-on approach and the ability to work independently when required.
* Ability to work well as part of a small maintenance team.
Package & Benefits
* Salary of up to £30,000 per annum.
* Permanent position.
* Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
* 25 days' annual leave plus 8 bank holidays.
* Standard pension.
* Limited overtime available.
* Call-out rota of one week in two, with a £100 standby payment.
* Call-outs are reportedly very rare.
