- Analyze requirements of project to determine types of publications needed
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of technical documentation
- Responsible for compiling data and writing or revising text for informative, instructional, or promotional articles, user documentation, newsletters, electronic database publications, media guides, or similar materials of a technical nature
- Research topics, including gathering and sorting source and background materials; consults with various personnel to clarify details of source materials; provides statistical analysis of data as required.
- Plan layout of work, arranging sequence of topics and placement of graphics as applicable
- May electronically upload publications and download news cables for analysis
- May coordinate department activities such as production of documents, scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and maintaining files
- Maintain a broad knowledge of state‑of‑the‑art technology, equipment, and/or systems
- Performs miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned
- Develop or review installation manuals to ensure clear and concise instructions
- Degree or diploma in English, Journalism, Technical Writing or similar discipline
- 3‑5+ years’ of progressive experience in technical writing, specific to the Information Technology field
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and an understanding of programming concepts, operating systems and/or networking
- Ability to write, edit, and/or revise a range of technical communications from specifically compiled raw data
- Skill in collecting, analyzing, verifying, and manipulating research data
- Ability to communicate with and understand the requirements of professional staff in various areas of Information Technology specialties
- Skill in developing, designing and the formal layout of materials to be published
