Financial Controls Manager

Be a key player in financial governance as the Manager of Financial Controls for the Government of Nunavut in Iqaluit. This role focuses on safeguarding financial assets and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Reporting to the Director, Financial Reporting and Controls, you will lead the implementation of internal controls for financial information systems. You will be instrumental in bank and general ledger reconciliation processes, manage Oracle Fusion accounting tables, and ensure timely Federal filings. Additionally, you will mentor financial staff across departments to enhance their accounting expertise and support effective expenditure management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement internal controls for financial systems

• Manage bank and general ledger reconciliations

• Administer Oracle Fusion accounting tables

• Ensure completion of Federal filings monthly

• Mentor financial staff on best practices

Requirements:

• Experience with financial controls and systems

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles

• Familiarity with Oracle Fusion or similar systems

• Proven ability in staff mentorship

• Must reside in Iqaluit, Government of Nunavut employees only
