Reporting to the Director, Nunavut Emergency Management, the Manager, Emergency Preparedness (Manager) is accountable for the development and delivery of an effective emergency management program throughout Nunavut. This program includes the development and delivery of emergency management programs at the municipal and territorial level. The Manager develops and delivers training programs for employees of municipal and Government of Nunavut (GN) departments and agencies, including public education and awareness programs related to emergency preparedness.
The Manager will also assist municipal councils in developing comprehensive business continuity programs, including critical infrastructure listings. This position provides policies and best practices for an effective emergency management program as mandated by the Emergency Measures Act (EMA).
