Candidates must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a valid South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) Principal or Supervisor Certification in one of the following areas:
- School Principal (Tier I or Tier II)
- Elementary Principal (Tier I or Tier II)
- Secondary Principal (Tier I or Tier II)
- Elementary Principal
- Elementary Supervisor
- Secondary Principal
- Secondary Supervisor
- Supplemented by at least three years of teaching and/or administrative experience.
May require a valid state driver’s license.
DescriptionThis position is responsible for assisting the principal, teachers, and other instructional staff in coordinating and improving the instructional program of assigned grade level(s) to the benefit of every student. The assistant principal assists with daily school administrative functions, including enforcement of student discipline policies and procedures, supervision and coordination of the work of assigned personnel, and ensuring adherence to school and district policies, regulations, and goals.
This position is under occasional supervision.
