Position Purpose

The Sewing Technician I position is responsible for safe and timely execution of assigned duties to satisfy customer demand for high‑quality beds. The role requires performing several styles of sewing stitches and operating a variety of sewing and auxiliary machines, with the ability to change tasks with minimal interruption.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Efficiently perform 1–5 sewing operations within a specified area per Work Instructions on commercial‑grade equipment.
  • Set up machines for daily operation using provided Work Instructions.
  • Work toward hourly production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Apply knowledge of Standardized Work and Work Instructions.
  • Follow safe work practices, including wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Execute TPMs and light maintenance on sewing and auxiliary machines.
  • Make minor adjustments to machines, needles, and tooling as needed.
  • Apply and explain Quality 1, 2, 3 processes to management.
  • Recognize quality errors or nonconforming conditions and report them appropriately.
  • Cooperate with coworkers and management as a team player.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work area free of clutter and debris, employing basic 5S principles.
Position Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred experience in the manufacturing textile and/or sewing environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication with all team members.
Compensation

$17.00 per hour with an annual company bonus plan.
