The Clinic Receptionist - Physician Services works under the direction of hospital employed physicians and mid-level providers (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to provide quality patient care in the medical office setting. Accommodates patients, visitors, physicians, and physician staff by maintaining predetermined schedules. Maintains flexibility to comfortably accommodate all schedule changes.

Education

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Preferred/Optional: Post secondary courses in medical terminology, word processing and/or healthcare business.

Experience / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Minimum

Required:

Preference will be given to those with EMR experience which includes, but not limited to, scanning, indexing and check in/out.

Personality and demeanor to deal with the public and assist ill and well patients of all ages. Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize. Strong work ethic to work in fast paced environment and flexible in changing demands of clinics. Possess good communication skills;
Deal effectively with people;
Maintain strict confidentiality;
Follow directions accurately;
Must be able to work under varied and changing work conditions;
Maintain appropriate attitude, appearance, and professional behavior at all times;
Ability to cooperate with others;
Desire to be part of the healthcare team;
Sense of responsibility, initiative and honesty and assures that provider base billing requirements are fulfilled. Uses EMR.

Preferred/Optional: Preferred medical office setting or admitting clerk experience within the last 3 years.
