Take2 Consulting is seeking a technically proficient and customer-focused Installation Engineer to support the federal program deployment and training initiatives. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives in fast-paced environments, represents the company with professionalism, and is comfortable traveling by air or road while leading onsite technical teams.
Responsibilities- Manage workload and oversee setup of IT equipment at training sites.
- Verify systems are imaged with the most current approved image and available for security scans and updates.
- Configure Active Directory assignments for training environments.
- Set up and troubleshoot network connectivity in training rooms, including baseband, internet, and Wi-Fi.
- Install and configure computer peripherals at each training seat.
- Perform hardware startup, imaging, configuration, updates, naming, break/fix, and issue resolution.
- Manage inventory and ensure network connectivity during all training sessions.
- Provide onsite and ongoing technical support with minimal supervision.
- Position is primarily onsite at a Medical Centers and off-site training locations.
- Daytime hours with potential for evenings or weekends as needed.
- Up to 50% regional or national travel; trips may range from short-term to 1–4 weeks.
- Travel may be by vehicle or plane; valid driver’s license required.
- Eligibility to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
- 5+ years of experience designing, analyzing, configuring, or troubleshooting IP networks.
- Experience managing technical teams.
- Hands‑on experience with Wi‑Fi and network hardware installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with hardware and software support, imaging, break/fix, refresh, upgrade, and deployment projects.
- Strong customer service, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience writing technical reports and deliverables.
- Ability to analyze network traffic and determine root causes of network issues.
- Ability to lift and install IT equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to traverse large campuses, move equipment, push carts, and work in tight spaces such as under desks and server closets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or equivalent with 10 years of experience; or 18 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Public Trust clearance.
- Experience as an IT Helpdesk Tier 2 technician.
- Strong critical thinking and error assessment skills.
